Oakland Pride 2026 marks an exciting new era as the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center takes the helm as the official producer of our beloved celebration.
After more than 15 years of dedicated service, the nonprofit that originally produced Oakland Pride is winding down operations. We extend our deepest gratitude to the founders, volunteers, and community members who built this tradition from the ground up.
The Oakland LGBTQ Community Center is honored to carry this legacy forward, ensuring that Oakland Pride remains a vibrant, inclusive celebration for generations to come.
Oakland Pride has a rich history that dates back to its founding October 13th, 2009. Since then, it has grown into one of the most vibrant and inclusive Pride celebrations in the Bay Area.
The event was created to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community in Oakland and to provide a safe space for individuals to express themselves and connect with others.
Over the years, Oakland Pride has faced various challenges, including funding issues and the need for greater visibility within the community. However, it has persevered and continues to thrive, thanks to the support of local organizations and community members.
To celebrate the cultures and diversity of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) community in the East Bay, to educate the greater Bay Area promoting equality, social justice, civic involvement, and responsibility with Oakland and neighboring communities.
Oakland Pride 2026 is produced by the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center.
